I could sleep for days.

Holy MOLY jet lag.

My world has been flipped upside down. After riding 14 hours on a plane, we finally arrived in Brisbane at 7:00 am local time. That’s 5 p.m. sunday evening in Indiana. My eyes were already burning at this point from lack of sleep over the past couple of weeks in anticipation of this moment. Also, let’s be honest- who can actually get sleep and feel well rested after getting off an airplane? No one- except the guy behind me.

There we were in Brisbane. Still sitting on the airplane though because quarantine refused to clear us. Then we had to make it through customs. We finally did – by this time it was 8:30 a.m. local time. After finally locating a bus and making it to Bond- culture shock set in. All the sudden everything felt so far away. My parents, my cat, my friends… even my beloved reese cups. It’s that moment when you realize that this foreign place- with all of these people you know nothing about- this is your new home for the next 3.5 months- like it or not.

Kind of shocking.

I am way out of my comfort zone- which is why I did this. Here we go.

  1. Awwww! Thanks, VIckie! My question is….why didn’t you wake the guy up that was behind you? It seems only right. :)

I would love your feedback.
